RF Magic has an excellent opportunity for a Principal RFIC Design Engineer to work on issues that impact design/selling success or address future concepts, products or technologies. The scope of responsibilities include: consulting and coaching across multiple projects, defining optimum architecture-- trade off risk/cost and performance; applying knowledge across multiple disciplines (complete solutions); and, determining strategic competencies to ensure competitive advantage and long term success.

Job Requirements

The qualified candidate will have a MSEE (PhD preferred) plus a minimum of 10 years RFIC Design experience. Must have in-depth understanding of RF systems and architectures, as well as digital communication techniques and methods. A proven knowledge of IC technologies: e.g. Si, SiGe, GaAs, CMOS, DC and RF transistor modeling; IC design tools and simulators, e.g. Cadence, ADS, RF spectre, harmonic balance and time domain simulators; and, IC layout design and techniques, tools and verification methodologies. The ideal candidate will need to be proficient in programming, e.g. Matlab, C++, ocean, as well as strong analytical and mathematical skills: e.g., Z and S domain analysis; complex small signal circuit analysis; filter analysis etc. Candidates need to be proficient in test and measurement techniques, knowledgeable in board design techniques and have a detailed knowledge of packaging technologies, board technologies and exotic technologies, e.g. mems, fbar, etc with the ability to translate marketing requirements into product requirements. Candidates need to be team players with dynamic/positive attitudes, possess an insightful approach to problem solving and have valuable intuition & experience.
