DVB-S2 Direct Conversion Satellite Tuner IC

The drive is on to add high definition (HDTV), video-on-demand (VOD), and even more channel selection to the consumers’ satellite TV experience. Higher modulation (8PSK, 16QAM) in the transmit signal is a key enabler for these applications. The STB6100, designed by RF Magic and sold by STMicroelectronics, is an improved version of the award-winning STB6000 that can process all the DVB-S2 modulation standards. Featuring the best phase noise performance in the market, the STB6100 includes an LNA, mixers, filters, VCO/PLL, and gain control in an ultra small 5mm x 5mm 32pin QFN package.
